The phrase ‘right hand’ bears great significance in the Bible. It portrays a position of privilege – a place of honour and status.
No matter the earthly position a fellow occupies, there is more power and authority at the right hand of God (1 Peter 3:22). It is also the place of sustenance and help. (Psalm 18:35)
Are you occupying your place at God’s right hand with Christ? If you have not surrendered to God, or if you have wandered away from Him, I invite you today to come unto Him. He is knocking at the door of your heart (Revelation 3:20); open it up to Him.
“Christians, we are a people of power and influence. We enjoy help, sustenance, and favour from God. Unfortunately, however, while this is our identity as God’s children, some believers are living far away from this reality because, like the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32, they have wandered far away from the Father’s right hand. They have heeded the call of sin and frustrated God’s grace upon their lives.”
